Install SEO Tool for Firefox 1

SEO for Firefox is a Firefox extension developed and provided by SEOBook.com.  It provides useful marketing data which makes it easy to see what your competition is up to.

This of course is a great tool for developing SEO strategy and tactics to improve your page ranking with both Google and Yahoo search engines.

First things first, if you’re not using Firefox as your browser, download it and install.  Once you’ve accomplished that the next step is to visit http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html and follow the directions to install.  You’ll have to be using Firefox to install SEO for Firefox correctly.

Most likely Firefox will ask you if you want to allow the installation by dropping down a little bar at the top of the page.

Click Allow and continue.

A menu will pop up in the middle of the page. Click Install Now.

Next, it will ask you to restart Firefox, or in some cases, to restart your machine.  Go ahead and do that.

Once Firefox restarts, go ahead and conduct a Google or Yahoo search on anything that pops into your mind.

Always pay your monthly hosting fees

If you are on a monthly plan, make sure you keep your payments up to date, or else they can revert back to available at Network Solutions, and someone  can buy it right out from under you. Naturally, you would lose the whole of the website as well.

That happened to me with one of my sites, only in this case, the hosting company did not propagate the DNS correctly, so the domain name was supposedly up for grabs, and then it was sold by Network Solutions to someone who bought a 5 year hosting package, which apparently is then non-refundable.

My hosting company then suggested I try to get the name back for $100.

But all credit to Network Solutions and a reasonable woman who was not thieving my domain, merely caught in the confusion, and I got it back.

The one other thing to note here is that the hosting company was still happily billing me automatically every month. I eventually got the money applied to my account, but it was pretty troublesome and stressful, and as I said, I lost the whole of the site and had to start from scratch.

Register a Domain and Don’t Delay in Paying

When you register your domain, make sure you do not delaying in getting it hosted and paying for it to avoid cybersquatting.

There is nothing worse than having a great new domain name, and in some cases, people even getting all their promo and stationery done without yet registering the domain (dumb!) only to discover that your perfect business name has been swiped!
